TOKYO INSTITUTE, POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY
We educate students to be able to "make things" for modern society through our educational training system, which combines practice and study, effectively linking theory with skills and technology. "Specialized Technical Program" and advanced course: "Professional Technical Program" are provided.
Specialized Technical Program
This is a two-year program where students systematically learn basic to advance skills and techniques required for their majors. The program enables students to acquire the fundamentals required of practical engineers ("engineering technician"), that is, core engineers capable of manufacturing what industry circles are eagerly pursuing.
Our education and training system is based on the following: 1) learning not by independent theories, skills, and techniques but through an organic fusion of these three; and 2) an original curriculum that incorporates a great deal of experiments and practice.
Professional Technical Program
This is a two-year program where students further improve the basic expertise and skills acquired through the specialized technical program to master advanced skills, techniques, and planning and development capabilities. Through a unique educational training system, the program provides appropriate fundamentals, which the industry real-world requires of leaders at the production sites.
Our education and training system is based on the following: 1) task learning of both knowledge and practice, giving due consideration to the realities of manufacturing sites; and 2) a new learning called the "working group approach," where students undertake a common task as a group while leveraging each member's expertise.
